PTC lab has well-established culture room with controlled temperature, preparation room with Millipore-grade water purification system, autoclave, high precision balance and clean air cabinets to culture plants, culture organs like adventitious roots and shoots in suspensions and bioreactors and to culture endangered medicinal plants. This is an essential method wherein rareand endangered plants can be propagated and preserved at the same time.
A network of several computers suitable for data mining, sequence analysis, structural chemistry, molecular modelling and scientific graphics visualization are installed in the facility.
The bioprocess facility provides a complete setup for protein production in lab scale, optimization of recombinant organism with bioreactor by using different techniques, yield optimization and develop high cell density culture technique for different organisms to get maximum yield.
Sophisticated Instrumentation Lab
The las is equipped with sophisticated analytical instruments in the areas of research to meet the needs of users in various areas of science & technology. A wide range of analytical methods/techniques for chemical/material analysis/ testing/characterization including qualitative and quantitative analysis viz. HPLC, PCR, UV-VIS Spectrophotometry are available to the graduates for helping them in their research work.
Molecular Biology Lab
Molecular biology lab facilities have designed to separate sample processing (nucleic acid extraction), reagent preparation and amplification/product detection areas to minimize the possibility of cross-contamination.
UG General Laboratory
Laboratory in which basic scientific and biotechnology methodology is taught to B.Sc., Biotechnology students and used to explore and experiment the new topics emerging in the biotechnology field.
Animal Tissue Culture Lab
Animal tissue culture lab is used for the study of the culture of animal cells and tissues, which uses techniques that involve isolation of cells, tissues and organs from animals and growing them in an in vitro or artificial environment.
PG General Laboratory
Hands-on exercise is one of the most important aspects in biotechnology field. PG General Laboratory is designed forM.Sc., Biotechnology students to learn many molecular biology methods. Students will learn practical skills in planning, executing, analyzing and troubleshooting research protocols. The goal of the laboratory is to expose PG students to various techniques in biotechnology as well as to prepare them for independence in research settings.
