The Department of Computer Science was buzzing in the midst of a slew of events in the academic year 2019-20, targeting varied beneficiaries viz. faculties, research scholars, college students and school students alike. The events were staged in diverse platforms from District-level to International-level. Ramping-up to the current needs and availing latest technologies, the Department has conducted online conferences of International repute. Being a socially responsible College, the laboratory of the Department has always been the chosen destination for hosting various computer-based training programmes conducted for Government officials. Our Institute was accorded permission to host 5 one-week Summer-FDPs from 27th may 2019 to 28th June 2019. Faculty members from various Colleges and Universities participated in the FDPs.

A pioneering forum of the College, organized by the PG students is a weekly routine of the Department with an objective to hone their interpersonal skills and refine their technical exploits in latest trends and technologies. The forum also inculcates peer learning skills and team work among students. Various events such as Paper Presentation, Debate, Group Discussion, Mock Interview, Quantitative Apps, etc. were conducted by the students for imbibing technical and communication skills of the students and equip them to cope up with the real-world challenges.
A One-day District-Level Inter-School Symposium was organized on 4th March 2020 to provide a level-playing-field for school students from diverse backgrounds from in and around Kanchipuram to exhibit their latent talents.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. S. Naresh Kumar, M.Sc CST, M.Tech., M.B.A., Human Resource Head (Global Hiring)- Impactiva S de R L, China, Human Resource Head(Global Hiring)- Vaeso S de R L, India. A Handbook titled “Discovering Knowledge” was also released in the function. Our Principal Dr. K.R. Venkatesan, delivered the presidential address.
Tech Blast’20 received overwhelming response with over 130 students from 15 schools enrolling for the symposium and participated in various events. The overall- championship trophy was bagged by SSKV Girls Hr. sec. School, Kanchipuram and Gem of Tech blast was accorded to Anderson Hr. Sec. School, Kanchipuram. The podium finishers were bestowed with trophies and certificates in the valedictory function presided over by Dr. P. Gugan, M.C.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., Principal, Jaya Arts and Science College
Comfete is a flagship programme of the Department organized to provide a window of opportunity for budding prodigies of student’s community to stage their skillsets on national level. COMFETE’20 was organized as a National- Level Seminar on “Natural Language Processing” and an Inter-Collegiate Technical Symposium on 5th March 2020.
